Google introduces Traffic status using google Maps for major Indian cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai New Delhi. Particularly if you are using an Android Phone, you can view the status using the Google Maps App.

Google Maps for Desktop also comes with this facility, but Android users will be getting the exact traffic status. See the following pictures.

Above: Search in Chennai near Tambaram, The RED colored line indicates that there is a traffic congestion and the Green line indicates that the traffic is smooth. This was taken as 10PM today.

Above: To enable the Traffic, click the icon provided in the Google Maps and select the “Traffic” as indicated in the image.
